Aladin’s Restaurant is proud to present IX-CHEL this Saturday, March 13th during dinner service.

Formerly known as ‘Luznasombraga,’ Ix’Chel is the breathtakingly modern performance act/live sound project that swept the nightlife and performance art scene in Mexico city by storm and has now arrived in Canada. Ix’Chel is the creative collaboration of musicians and performance artists, Oscar Robles and Brittany Bowman, as visually awakened through the black-lit imagination of costume designer Sofia Robles. The performing duo employ live beats and percussion, and use the Chapman Stick, Six string and fretless basses, and flute to weave diverse musical tapestries. Ix’Chel is emotionally charged, musically adventurous and irresistibly groovy. Named in honour of the ancient Mayan jaguar moon Goddess who fell in love with the Sun, Ix Chel’s performances invoke abstract legends of the moon goddess, told over an endless sea of deep beats. The energetic live show features dreamlike, glowing costumes worn by the musicians which effectively captivate audiences, drawing them deeper into Ix’Chel’s unique and mysterious realm of musical exploration. Searing hot musicianship and onstage alchemy define Ix’Chel whose mesmerizing performances are as inspiring to the imagination as they are musically exciting.
